The UBC Alpine team is always looking for experienced competitors who would like to continue their racing career in a team environment. There are also opportunities for those interested in simply training for skiing and for assisting the head coach. The team will officially start training again in September 2010. Both UBC Thunderbird alpine skiing squads had solid 2010 USCSA seasons, with the men capturing 13th overall at Nationals. Rookies Matt Bunston, a second-team All-American, and Emma Beattie, a third-team All-American, were the T-Birds top two individual performers.

After last weekend's race at Mission Ridge in Washington, the UBC Thunderbirds women's alpine skiing team is ranked first in the Northwest USCSA conference, while men are a close second in their standings.

The UBC Thunderbirds followed up their hot start to the alpine skiing season with another solid showing in a series of giant slalom races at Silver Mountain in Kellog, ID.

WA - At the first conference race of the season, the UBC Thunderbirds raced to first place finishes in both men's and women's categories. On the weekend of January 23-24, the team competed in two slalom races at Mt. Spokane, WA. On Saturday, the women finished five seconds ahead of Whitman College while the men's team was seven seconds ahead of the University of Idaho.
