Jocelyn Alford led a trio of UBC Thunderbirds to top five finishes at the CBU Spring Break Intercollegiate at Primm Valley GC in Primm, Nevada this week, helping the T-Birds to their first tournament victory of the season.
Alford, a second-year from Calgary, led from start-to-finish with a pair of tournament-low rounds of 74 to earn the individual title with a two round total of four-over par 148.
She was joined in the top five by teammates
Vanessa Leon (76-76-152) and
Alyssa Human (74-79-153) who finished fourth and fifth respectively. Fellow T-Bird
Lindsay Manion just missed the top 10, tying for 11th spot at 15 over par (79-80).
Kylie Barros ended tied for 26th (78-87-165).
The T-Birds out-paced the field with a two-round team total of 811, finishing 13 shots ahead of second-place California Baptist and 24 clear of third-place Concordia.
