VANCOUVER - The top high school basketball players from across the province will descend on War Memorial Gym this Saturday for the 2010 BC High School All-Star.
The UBC T-Bird basketball teams have hosted the event for more than 15 years and this weekend they will welcome 26 of the best female high school players while 21 of the top men's players will be in attendance.
Taking part in the festivities are a pair of top flight UBC recruits in Handsworth's Kris Young (female) and Pitt Meadows' Mike Lewandowski (male).
The event has grown into an all-day affair, with practices for both teams in the morning followed by a group luncheon. A skills competition takes place in the early afternoon followed by both all-star tilts. The women tip-off at 3:30 p.m. with them men scheduled for a 5:15 p.m. start.
