VANCOUVER - The Lewis Clark State Warriors rallied in the ninth to pull within one run and load the bases up, but
Conor Lillis-White shut the door for his fourth save of the year in a 4-3 UBC Thunderbirds win on Saturday afternoon in Lewiston, Idaho.

UBC entered the ninth inning with a two-run lead, but the Warriors put together a two-out rally to score one run on a Kyle Blackwell single. The bases were loaded for .336 hitter Jacob Cano, who had two hits in the game at that point, but Lillis-White got him to ground out to short to end the game. He pitched two innings and struck out two batters, allowing three hits and one run to get the save.
Starter
Bryan Pawlina got the win to improve to 9-0 this season. He went five innings, allowing a run on six hits and no walks, with three strikeouts. Miles Verwheel allowed one run on three hits in the middle two innings.
The 'Birds got all their offence in the third, with three runs coming on a bases-clearing double by
Tyson Popoff.
Jeremy Kral added an RBI single in the inning to make it a 4-1 game at the time. UBC managed just one hit after the third inning against tough Warriors starter Steve Thompson, who took a sub-2.00 ERA into this contest.
Popoff and
Brody Hawkins both have six hits already in this series.
With the win, UBC moves to 25-15 overall and 19-8 in the conference, while seventh-ranked Lewis Clark State falls to 37-13 and 21-6. The two playoff-bound teams wrap up their series and the regular season with game four on Sunday, with first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m.
